At ILC we’ve developed a program for kids ages 1-12 that is dynamic, intuitive, and builds a sturdy biblical foundation.
IKIDS exists to teach children that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Our role is to walk alongside them as they discover His love for them and to support them as they grow deeper in their faith.
We partner with parents to give children love, teach them God’s Word, and disciple our children so they can honor Christ with each step they take. We want to partner with parents to “train a child in the way he should go,” so faith will guide each child on his or her journey through life.
Sharing the Gospel regularly, as taught in the great commission - Matthew 28:19-20
Supporting parents as they engage with their responsibility to lead their children in walking with Christ - Deuteronomy 6
Discipleship: to have a fruitful relationship with God, children must be taught to obey Him. We want to make disciples who make disciples - Proverbs 8:32, Ephesians 6:1 & Colossians 3:20
Modeling a life of holiness. We will give children and their families the tools to grow in Christ. Children need to be taught how to think and act in relation to God and His ways .Exodus 12:26, Deuteronomy 4:9-10 and 6:1-7, Psalm 78:4-6 & Proverbs 22:6
With our youngest children, no curricular program is followed; rather, time here is focused on meeting the needs of each individual child. Those children who are able may choose to explore the classroom, which is set up to include soft mats and infant-friendly toys.Who this class is designed for: Children who are not yet accomplished walkers or developmentally ready to begin participating in curricular activities (typically, those aged birth to 19 months).
With children who are newly accomplished walkers, most of our time is spent nurturing individual needs and allowing children to explore developmentally-appropriate toys. Children are provided some exposure to the Scripture through coloring sheets or simple craft, and the language of the adults caring for them. Who this class is designed for: Children who are independent walkers and can participate in basic curricular activities (as described above) but who are not yet ready for group instruction (typically, those aged 9 months to 2 years).
What happens in this class: Younger preschoolers participate in small- and large-group curriculum-related games and crafts facilitated to be developmentally-appropriate for their comprehension and attention-span. Who this class is designed for: Children who are becoming more skilled in group instruction setting and are requiring incrementally less facilitation tointeract with peers and who are toilet-trained (typically, ages 3-5).
The Special Needs Ministry at Ignite Life Center provides, as one component of a growing spectrum of supports for individuals from birth through adulthood, an opportunity for children with special needs to be included as a welcome part of our Children’s Ministry and for their parents to be able to attend church with the security of knowing that their son or daughter is cared for. The non-inclusion classrooms and inclusion support team exist to provide a loving, safe, adaptable environment and individualized support for all individuals with special needs and their families to learn that they are made in God’s image and that Jesus loves them.
Navigators is a place where children can come to learn from the characters in the Bible to be an example like the one in 1st Timothy 4:12. Crazy skits, games, crafts, lessons, worship and small groups are part of the Sunday morning services. This is a safe environment that has caring adults who love to teach and have fun. When these kids come to know Jesus, there is no stopping them. Exploring God’s Word and beginning their journey with Him happens here (Typically ages 6 to 8 years old).
Catalyst is a class just for older children that honors God’s Word and provides an opportunity to understand and practice its principles. During Sunday morning service, the children will be involved in worship, Bible study, and small group activities. We see every moment as a teachable moment and will utilize different mediums such as drama, music, multi-media, and, most of all, personal relationships to show kids the power of God and get the Gospel message across to everyone. God can work through them just like He worked through the people in the Bible. Catalyst do not need to journey alone. Leaders will explore and discover with them to grow closer to Christ and make the difference. (Typically ages 9 to 12 years old).
